The Mother Shower Blessing Ceremony is an intimate celebration to welcome you into motherhood. Unlike a traditional baby shower, the Mother Shower Blessing Ceremony is focused on celebrating the mother. Fore a baby is arriving, and a mother is being born as well.

The Mother Shower Blessing Ceremony is based upon the traditional motherhood celebrations held in both African and Native American cultures.

Services begin with an initial 2-hour planning session to get to know your vision for your Mother Blessing Ceremony, put together a guest list, and decide on your ceremonial activities, place, and time. 

From there, Natural Rhythms will take care of your everything for your entire ceremony including sending out custom created invitations containing information about the ceremony’s meaning, time, place, and how guests should prepare, setting-up, facilitating activities, providing the ceremonial materials(with your reimbursement), and cleaning-up.

Some activities that can be facilitated during your ceremony include:

• Cleansing and Opening Rituals: The Mother Blessing Ceremony is a powerful way to cover the mother with energy and prayers for a safe passage. Every woman who enters the ceremony space must be fully present and ready to offer the mother her blessings. We begin with a formal cleansing and opening ritual, followed by ceremonial activities.
• The Mother’s Blessing Beads:  Blessing Beads are created during the ceremony for the mother to wear or hold during her labor. While she is riding the waves of intense contractions, she can focus on the power, strength, and blessings endowed in her beads to get through each wave feeling their powerful energy.
• Ceremonial Songs:  As a baby is born, so also is a mother born. We use our voices together in ceremonial songs to call upon the spirit of the mother within who will be born as her baby is. Song is a great way to create energy and healing in the space as well as bring some fun to it with dance.
• Pampering Mama: Food, Belly Adorning, Laying of Hands: We share a meal together, share birth stories, and allow the mother to speak her feelings about her upcoming passage. We adorn mama's belly with henna, paint or flower petals that make her feel beautiful, anointed, and loved. The laying of hands is both symbolic and practical. We lay hands of comfort, power, strength, honor, creation, and healing on the mother. We give her physical comfort, and spiritual fortitude for her upcoming passage.
